Gluch, John Henry (24 March 1891 - 18 February1966)

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for John H. Gluch, 74, of Rt. 2 Granton, who died Friday in Neillsville. The Rev. Norman Lindloff officiated at services from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

John Henry Gluch was born March 24, 1891, in Clark County.  His parents were the late Daniel and Marie (Pischer) Gluch.  He attended school in Clark County, and had farmed and lived on the same place his entire life.  On December 25, 1914, he was married to the former Lilly Garbisch in Granton.

At the time of his death, Mr. Gluch and his wife were making their home with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gluch, who are operating the home farm.

Mr. Gluch is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Everett (Leila) Brown of McHenry, Ill., Mrs. George (Violet) Blaney of McHenry, Ill., and Mrs. Folvio (Gladys) Coresie of Chicago, Ill.; and by a son, Raymond, on the home farm.

Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Amelia (Garbisch) Schlinsog of Neillsville, Mrs. Ida Howard of Marshfield and Mrs. Tena Garbisch of Granton; a brother, Herman Gluch of Marshfield; and two grandchildren.

He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.

People from out of town attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Brown, Mr. and Mrs. George Blaney of McHenry, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Folvio Cortesi and Diane of Chicago, Ill.; Herman Gluch of Marshfield.

Pallbearers were: W. H. Allen, Herbert Schnabel, Alvin Scharf, Duane Marg, Oscar Gluck and Anton Vobora.

Mrs. Harold Mayer sang "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer My God to Thee," accompanied at the organ by Victor Lehmann.
