Bierherr, Joseph (? - 19 MAR 1917)

A message received here from Johnston, Ill, Monday afternoon conveyed the news that Jos. Bierherr met death at that place in a mine explosion.  Bierherr came here with his family from Chicago several years ago and settled on wild land in the southwest corner of the town of Lynn (Clark Co., Wis.)  He found it difficult to make a living for himself and family and last fall decided to go to Johnston, Ill., where he found work in a mine at good wages.  The family of deceased, consisting of a wife and five small children is still on the land and are reported to be in destitute circumstances.  Bierherr was a Hungarian and came to this county about 10 years ago.
