Swienton, Evelyn M. (25 JUL 1899 - 22 OCT 1960)
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning, Oct. 25 at 10:30 a.m. at St.
Hedwig’s Catholic Church for Mrs. Frank Swienton (Nee Evelyn Mae Brenner) 61,
who passed away Oct. 22, 1961, at Victory Memorial Hospital of a heart
condition. Rev. Francis Disher officiated and burial was made in St. Hedwig’s
Cemetery, Thorp.
Evelyn Mae Brenner was born in Lawer, Minn. July 25, 1899. When she was 1 year
old her folks moved to the village of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), where she moved
to a farm in the town of Thorp, where she received her education at a rural
school. In
the year of 1919 she was married to Frank Swienton at the St. Hedwig’s Church in
Thorp. They moved to Gilman, Wis., where they lived 9 years. The rest of her
life she lived in the city of Thorp. To
this union 7 children were born, 4 of whom are still living, (Sylvia) Mrs. Anton
Jacque, (Lucille) Mrs. Alex Badzinski, Thorp, (Marcella) Mrs. Raymond Knajdek,
St. Paul, Minn., (Geraldine) Mrs. Vic Dombrowski, Gilman, Wis., one adopted son,
Richard, Gilman, Wis., 3 children, 2 daughters and 1 son preceded her in death,
also her mother and dad. Also
surviving are her 13 brothers and sisters, Walter and LeRoy Brenner of Thorp;
(Edith) Mrs. Herman Raether, Floyd and Alfred Brenner of Gilman, Wis.; Ross
Brenner, (Louise) Mrs. Frank Misora, Milwaukee, Wis.; Fred Brenner, (Clara) Mrs.
Walt Rossmuson, Kelsa, Wash.; (Florence) Mrs. Richard Ford, Harrisburg, Ill.,
Willis Brenner, Colfax, Wis.; George Brenner, Loyal, Wis., and 14 grandchildren.
Evelyn Swienton was a member of the Lady Auxiliary at Thorp. All
but two of her brothers and sisters were able to attend the funeral, 1 brother
and 1 sister, both from Kelso, Wash.
Relatives and friends who attended the funeral were from Thorp, Gilman, Cornell,
Portage, Merrill, Loyal, Stanley, Conrath, Manitowoc, Wis. Rapids, Boyd,
Milwaukee, Colfax, St. Paul, Minn. and Illinois.
Pallbearers were Art Jacque, Barney Brunner, Tom Polnaszek, Ben Wiernasz, Bill
Zukowski, and Stanley Janicki.
