Nielson, Harold (24 November 1904 - 19 March 1966)

 

Harold Nielson, 61, of St. Paul, Minn., died Saturday, March 19, at the St. Joseph Hospital, St. Paul following surgery.

 

Mr. Nielson was born November 24, 1904, at Camp Douglas, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nielson, Sr.  He moved with his parents to Merrillan at an early age and attended the Merrillan schools, graduating with the class of 1922.  He was graduated from Layton Art School in Milwaukee, and was a commercial artist in Milwaukee and St. Paul.

 

He married Eileen Groundwater on November 21, 1932, in Eau Claire.

 

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mary, of St. Paul; a son, Dick of St. Paul; his mother, Mrs. Emma Nielson of Merrillan; a brother, Harvey of Tomah; and six grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Paul, with burial in a St. Paul cemetery.
