Holman, Eugene (3 September 1936 - 19 April 1966)
Eugene Holman, 29, died April 19 at his home in Garretson, S. D., of pneumonia. He had been ill only three days prior to his death.
Mr. Holman was born on September 3, 1936, at Fairchild, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Holman. He attended the Fairchild schools and spent his early years in the Fairchild area. For the last three years he was employed by the Noland Construction Company at Garretson.
Survivors are his widow, Delores; an infant son, Kent; two sons by a previous marriage, Kim and Brian, of Rockford, Ill.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Holman of Humbird; a sister, Mrs. Merlon Schoengarth of Merrillan; four brothers, Lester, Bernard and Robert all of Rockford, and Daniel of Humbird.
Services were held in Garretson Friday. Rev. Morris Ulring officiated. Burial was made in the Split Rock Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Larry Peterson, David Hanson, Lyle Schroeder, Vernon, Delbert and Elwood Halverson, all of Garretson.
Those attending the services from away in addition to the family were Claire and Gordon Staves of Minneapolis, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Person of Rapid City, S. D.
