Baumgarten, Elsie (21 May 1880 - 13 April 1966)

Mrs. Elsie Baumgarten, 85, died at her home in Elroy, April 13, following a heart attack.

She was born on May 21, 1880, in Green County, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Devlin. She moved to Merrillan with her parents in March, 1907, and was employed in the Merrillan Post office until her marriage to Alvin Baumgarten on October 21, 1908.  Her husband, a retired mail clerk for the Northwestern Railroad, died in 1955.

Survivors are: three daughters, Mrs. Reva Matthias of Elroy, Mrs. Paul Wahler of Racine and Ruth of Madison; two sisters, Mrs. Will (May) Nevins of Sidney, Mont.; and Mrs. Roger (Mabel) Sherman of West Salem; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday from the Elroy Methodist Church, with the Rev. Henry Bahrenburg officiating. Burial was made in the Elroy Cemetery.
