Faculty members of the United School District No. 3, Alma Center, Humbird and Merrillan, attended an audio-visual education training course at Eau Claire State University recently.
Several young people attended a sub-district junior and senior Methodist Youth Fellowship spring rally at the Alma Center Methodist Church Sunday afternoon.
Several auxiliary members met at the Legion Hall Tuesday evening to put the finishing touches on the new drapes which the ladies presented to the Legion as a birthday gift.
Mrs. Lawrence Feggestad of Stoughton has been spending several days at the Clint Burghardt home, attending to the household duties and caring for the family while her daughter, Lois, is fighting virus pneumonia. Lois’ many friends wish her a speedy recovery.
Mrs. Robert Linder has been spending several hours each day visiting her father, Oscar Hendrickson, who is a patient in the Black River Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hendrickson also is battling a virus.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Johnson of Stoughton spent the weekend at the Clarence Amundson home and attended the Louis Magnuson funeral at City Point Sunday.
Don Stolp and sons of Milwaukee spent the weekend with his mother Mrs. Dorothy Stolp.
Col. Joseph C. Kuncl of Lomira recently visited his sister in law, Mrs. Sylvia Tolkan. Col. Kuncl recently was named commandant of the state’s army school.
Mr. and Mrs. Gib Gile and Bob drove to Peru, Ill., Saturday, where they met their daughter and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stuve, Steve and Stephanie, of St. Louis, Mo. They spent the weekend together and returned to their homes, Sunday.
Mrs. William Onstad is reported a patient in the Black River Memorial Hospital following a stroke suffered in her home last Thursday.
East Lawn Cemetery association of Alma Center will hold their annual cemetery meeting at 8 p.m. Monday, May 2, in the Alma Center Municipal building. All persons interested in the East Lawn Cemetery are urged to attend.
Jennie Eddy, auxiliary president, announces all cash donations for the "Foodless Food Sale" must be turned in to her on or before May 1. She states that all proceeds will be donated to the Black River Memorial Hospital building fund.
Robert Skaar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Skaar, Merrillan, recently enlisted in the army and is receiving basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. He is a 1963 graduate of Lincoln High School, and he and his wife resided in Racine.
