Meier, Albert (6 March 1895 - 2 May 1966)
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home for Albert Meier, 71, of Rt. 1 Columbus, who died Monday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Columbus, where he was taken after suffering a stroke while riding a tractor. Rev. Jacob Grether will officiate and burial will be made in the Town of Levis Cemetery.
Mr. Meier was born March 6, 1895, in the Town of Levis. He was educated in that area and spent many years in this community. On April 3, 1915, he was married to the former Leota Temby, who died in 1953. In 1951 the family moved to the Wisconsin Rapids area and for the last seven years he made his home with his daughter near Columbus.
He is survived by three children, Mrs. Kurt (Irene) Schoenherr of Columbus, Mrs. Roy (Delores) Sitzman of Neillsville and Melvin Meier of Toston, Mont.; a sister, Mrs. Caroline Seidelman of Neillsville; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted May 6 from the Georgas Funeral Home for Albert Meier, who died May 2 in Columbus.
"Abide with me" and "Nearer My God to Thee," were sung by Mrs. Glenn Lezotte and daughter, Linda, accompanied by Mrs. Jas. A. Musil.
Pallbearers were: Dan B. Rezin, Herb Keller, Andrew Kurasz, Aeriel Austin, George Andler and Howard Gaumitz.
People from away here for the service included: Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Schoenherr, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schoenherr, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schoenherr, Jerry, Donald and Kurt Schoenherr, Jr., all of Columbus; George Andler, Howard Gaumitz and Aeriel Austin of Columbus; Melvin and Duane Meier of Toston, Mont.; Mr. and Mrs. Dan B. Rezin and Mrs. Floyd Rezin of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Rasch of Wilmette, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Alex Lesieki of Hixton; Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Duyer of Alma Center; and Mrs. Charles Swenson of Wisconsin Rapids.
