Skaugstad, Ole (14 FEB 1872 - 11 JAN 1961) Ole
Skaugstad, a resident of 227 First Ave., Stanley, died at Victory Memorial
Hospital in Stanley on Wednesday. Mrs.
Skaugstad was born Feb. 14, 1872 in Longesund, Norway, the son of Hans and
Ingeborg Skaugstad. He came to the United States at the age of 14 to Elkhorn,
Wis. He sailed on Lake Michigan for a number of years, later moving to Stanley,
Wis., where his marriage to Melia Ramberg took place Sept. 11, 1897. Mr.
Skaugstad worked at the Northwester Lumber Mills, then at the milk plant as a
maintenance man, and later did plumbing and repair work for a number of years.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Charles of Mazomainie, Wis., two daughters,
Mrs. Ernest (Olga) Ehrdott of Oshkosh, and Mrs. Burnace (Esther) Reppert of
Kenosha; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward of Cle
Elum, Wash. And Julius of Seattle, Wash. He was preceded in death by two
sisters and two brothers. Mr.
Skaugstad was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Stanley.
Services were held at two p.m. Saturday with Rev. F.M. Salverson officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
