Peeples, Anna M. (13 MAY 1873 - 13 JAN 1961) Mrs.
McKee Peeples, 87, a former resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), died at her
home in West Allis, Wis. on Friday, Jan. 15, 1961, of old age infirmities. The
remains were brought to the Thorp Funeral Home Sunday and funeral services were
conducted by the Rev. Cecil Ward at the Methodist Church here at 10 o’clock
Monday morning, Jan. 16. Harold Issenberger of Stanley sang two songs, "Abide
with me" and "It is Well with My Soul," accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Wm.
Boardman.
Burial was made in the East Thorp Cemetery by the side of her husband who died
in 1934. Pallbearers were Edward Bogumill, Ray Zaborowski, Tony Gulczynski, Wm.
S. Wagner, Kenneth Lindquist and Wm. J. Kouda. Anna
Marie Peeples was born in Iola, Wis. on May 13, 1873. She was united in
marriage to McKee Peeples at Downing, Wis. on July 29, 1894, where she resided
for several years until they moved to Stanley, Wis., where Mr. Peeples worked as
Soo Depot agent. In 1915 she came to Thorp with her husband and family. After
the death of her husband in 1934 and growth of her children, she sold her home
here in 1937 and resided with her daughter, Mrs. Edna Miske in Detroit until
1945 when she went to West Allis to live near her son Robert, where she passed
away. Mrs. Peeples was a member of the Thorp Methodist Church and very active
in its affairs while a resident here. She
is survived by two sons, John A. Peeples, Santiago, Chili, So. American, and
Robert M. Peeples, West Allis, Wis., two daughters, Edna, Mrs. Hugo Miske,
Detroit, Mich., and Harriet, Mrs. Robert Inglis, Columbus, Ohio, and fourteen
grandchildren.
Relatives who were here to attend the services on Monday were: John A. Peeples,
Santiago, Chili, S.A.; Mr. and Mrs. John R. Peeples, Ann Arbor, Mich.; Robert
Miske, Albion, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Peeples and Miss Pat Peeples, West
Allis, Wis.; Mrs. H.C. Miske, Detroit, Mich.; Dr. and Mrs. Robert Inglis,
Columbus, Ohio, nieces, Mrs. D.C. Devendorf, Mrs. Edward Keer and husband, and
Miss Mabel Snyder of Eau Claire, and Mrs. Ted Johnson and husband of Crystal
Lake, Ill.
