Davis, Effie (24 September 1881 - 21 May 1966)

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton for Mrs. Effie Davis, 84, formerly of Granton, who died Saturday in Neillsville. The Rev. Oscar Nichols of Neillsville, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated.  Burial was made in Windfall Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Davis, the former Effie Breese, was born September 24, 1881, in the Town of York and had been a lifelong resident of that community until five years ago, when she went to make her home in Memorial Home in Neillsville.  On October 12, 1898, she was married to the late Truman Davis. She is survived by a son, Eldred, of Granton; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Lila) Hubing, of Neillsville; 14 Grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were: Irving Gower, Gus Bergemann, Elmer Newell, Ben Beeckler, Van Kayser and William Schmidtke. 

 

Hymns were sung by Mrs. Van Kayser and Mrs. William Schmidtke, accompanied by Mrs. Leland Garbisch.
