Urban, John Sr. (13 November 1897 - 12 June 1966)
Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home for John Urban, Sr., 69, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who died here Sunday. The Rev. Oscar Nichols of the Neillsville Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Born November 13, 1897, in Lithuania, Mr. Urban came to America alone as a young man. He located in Chicago, Ill, where, on September 22, 1917, he was married to the former Nellie Zinski.
In 1922 they moved to Clark County, locating on a farm in the Town of Washburn. For the last five years they farmed just west of Neillsville in the Town of Pine Valley.
Mr. Urban is survived by his wife and four children: Albert Urban of Wauwatosa, Mrs. Harold (Bertha) Ammentorp of Milwaukee, John Urban, Jr., of rural Neillsville, and Mrs. Glen (Milda) Swanson of Chicago, Ill.; and by nine grandchildren, and sisters still in Europe.

Funeral services for John Urban, 68, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who died of a gunshot wound June 12, were held last Thursday from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Oscar Nichols of the Neillsville Methodist Church officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Ellis Wall sang, "Saved by Grace" and "I Need Thee every hour," accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
Pallbearers were: John and Clarence Reinart, Ralph Short, Claude Kyle, Earl Hanson and Delbert Struble.
People from away here for the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Urban, Gayla, Jerald and Lynell, of Wauwatosa; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ammentorp and two children of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Swanson, Donna and Sherri, of Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Andy Mills and Raymond Zinsky of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Frank Konieczny of Thorp; Mrs. Eric Telin, Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Ackerman and Herman Awe, of Owen; Mrs. Frank Zwiefelhofer of Bloomer; Mrs. Connie Lowe of Nekoosa; Mrs. Bob Spiegel, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Simmons, Alvin Krause, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer, of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Miller, Peter Deltova, Ray Klianga, Pauline Jusins, Agnes Deltova, S. C. Scherf, and L. H. Munson, all of Withee.
