Ziegler, Theodore M. (15 April 1879 - 8 June 1966)

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville for Theodore M. Ziegler, 87, of Memorial Home, who died here June 8.  The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Ziegler was born April 15, 1879, in Cedarburg. The family moved to Clark County, where Mr. Ziegler attended county schools.  He was confirmed in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

On November 20, 1905, he was married to the former Augusta Ratsch in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church here. They engaged in farming in the Town of Seif for 48 years, and then moved to Neillsville in 1953.  He served as a member of the Wildwood School board for 20 years.

Mr. Ziegler is survived by his wife and six children: Mrs. Fred (Alvina) Babbe of Whitewater, Mrs.  Fred (Arnita) Hoffmann of Crosby Minn., Mrs. William (Lillian) Hoffmann of Berwyn, Ill., Alvin Ziegler of Neillsville, Harold Ziegler of Eau Claire and Clarence Ziegler of Brookfield.  Other survivors are two brothers, George of Wausau, and Adolph of Milwaukee; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: William F. Hoffmann, Daniel, Dennis, James, Terance and Gary Ziegler, all grandsons. Victor Lehmann, organist accompanied Mrs. Harold Mayer as she sang "Abide O Dearest Jesus" and "Rock of Ages."
