Carter, Ruth #2 (28 MAR 1917)

At noon, Wednesday, March 28th, 1917, Mr. George Albaugh and Miss Ruth Carter were united in marriage at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. James R. Carter, in the town of Washburn (Clark Co., Wis.), Rev. S.B. Pinney officiating.

Mr. Hubert Carter, a cousin of the bride, was groomsman, and Miss Gladys Winters was bridesmaid.  There was a large gathering of relatives and friends, and many beautiful and useful gifts were presented.  A bountiful wedding dinner was served to the guests.

The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Albaugh of York, and is a young man of excellent reputation and stands high with all who know him.

The bride was born and brought up in the town of Washburn, completed the country school course, attended the Neillsville High School, taught successfully for a time and returned last year, graduating with honors with the class of 1916.  She resumed teaching after graduation.  In all place she has made many friends, as a student in school and as a teacher, as well as in neighborhood life.

The young couple will carry on the Carter farm the coming season.  We wish them the joy and success that they so well deserved (Republican & Press)
