Services for Charles A Franz, 67, of Colby, will be held at Northridge Church of Abbotsford, 122 N. Second St.

Visitation will be Wednesday at the church in Abbotsford from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Thursday at the church from noon until the time of services. Service will be at 1 p.m. Pastor Will Krebs will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in the town of Hixon.

Charles was born in Owen on June 26, 1944, the son of the late William A. and Dorothy (Markee) Franz Sr. He passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012. 

On Nov. 27, 1965, he married Jacqueline Erickson of Curtiss. Charles was employed at various places including Damm Sawmill, Hurd Windows, and Weyerhaeuser companies.

His greatest love was spending time with his wife Jacqueline, their family and grandchildren. Hobbies included carving, woodworking, fishing, hunting and singing one of many favorite tunes at Karaoke Night.

Survivors include his wife Jacqueline of Colby; four daughters: Charlotte (Brian) Haines of Colby, Rebecca Franz of Spencer, Peggy (Michael) Collins of Bakersfield, CA, and Amanda (Nathan) Abney of Minneapolis, MN; eght grandchildren: Nicholas, Joshua, Samuel, Andrew, Ethan and Rosa Haines, Michael Collins III, and Oliva Abney; one sister: Annette Franz of Owen; and one brother William A. "Shorty" (Carol Ann) Franz Jr. of Colby. Charles is further survived by many other relatives and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Genevieve Arndt, Beatrice Rue and Carol Jean Robertson.

Memorial donations in Charles' name are being accepted by the family.
