Miller, Mary F. (5 SEP 1942 - 17 MAY 2012)
Mary F. Miller, 69, of Loyal, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Ministry
Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at St.
Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. The Rev. Keith Kitzhaber will officiate and
burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal on Monday, May 21, 2012,
from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. rosary service; and at the church on
Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Mary Frances Kastern was born on Sept. 5, 1942, in Superior, WI, the daughter of
Roman J. and Joan O. (Haebig) Kastern. She grew up and received her education in
Superior, graduating from Cathedral High School in 1961. She then attended
beauty school in Duluth, MN, and upon completion of her training, worked at My
Lady Beauty Salon in Marshfield.
She was united in marriage to James F. Miller on June 26, 1965, at St. John
Catholic Church in Marshfield. They lived and farmed in Loyal where Mary was a
homemaker and farm wife.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where she taught CCD, and was a
member of the Clark County Homemakers. Mary had many interests, but especially
enjoyed writing poetry, knitting mittens and playing cards.
She is survived by her husband, James, of Loyal; five children: Theresa Miller
of Marshfield, Lisa (Tim) Tollefson of Milton, David Miller of Loyal, Greg
(Julie) Miller of Loyal, and Robert Miller (fiance' LeeAnn Kozik) of Loyal; five
grandchildren: Christina Miller, Afton Tollefson, Brynn Tollefson, Brody Miller
and Sarah Miller; three brothers: John (Lois) Kastern of Marshfield, William
(Mary) Kastern of Chili and George (Sharen) Kastern of Sherwood, AR; nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
