Robert J. "Bob" Stoiber, 84, of Dorchester, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, at his home in Dorchester, with his loving wife and family at his side.

A Memorial Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. 

Rev. Daniel Hackel will officiate. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery with Military rights conducted by Dorchester American Legion Leach-Paulson Post 517. His family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. 

Life Tributes Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Spencer is assisting Bob's family.

Bob was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Mayville Township, Clark County to the late John and Emma (Gabriel) Stoiber. He attended St. Louis Catholic School graduating in 1941. Bob served in the National Guard and U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was united in marriage to Adeline (Brushaber) on Sept. 26, 1951, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. Bob and Adeline enjoyed many wonderful years together, marking their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 26, 2011.

After their marriage, Bob and Adeline farmed for a period of time. While farming Bob began a cheese making career at Cloverhill Coop, Curtiss, Dorchester Cheese Co., Dorchester, and then became a cheese maker and manager at Marathon-Clark Coop, Abbotsford. Bob also was a manager and cheese maker at Pleasant View Coop Dairy, Medford until retiring in 1992. Bob received the L.D. Schreiber Foods gold watch in 1984, in recognition of installing a rapid cooling system and producing over 99% state brand cheese in 1983.

Bob enjoyed wood working and made many children happy with crafting children's table and chairs sets, rockers and doll beds. He loved working on and restored his antique Ford 8N tractor.

Along with being a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Bob served on the board of directors of the (MAA) Marketing Association of America, a cheese marketing coop. Two years prior to retirement Bob served as President of the MAA. Bob served on the board of directors of Dorchester Memorial Cemetery, and was also a member of the Dorchester American Legion Leach-Paulson Post 517.

Bob is survived by his wife, Adeline of Dorchester; two sons, John Stoiber of Dorchester, and Robert Jr. (Jane) Stoiber of Curtiss; four daughters, Marjean Zoellick, Cheryl (Jerry) Vanlue, Mary Londre and Theresa (Terry) Faude, all of Dorchester; six grandchildren, Kristi (Andy) Busscher of Marshfield, Rudy (Crystal) Zoellick of Abbotsford, Zachary Zoellick of Dorchester, Courtney Faude of Dorchester, Reggie Vanlue of Dorchester, and Jonathon (Shawna) Stoiber of Withee. He is further survived by seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Agnes Danen of Dorchester; other relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma (Gabriel) Stoiber; a brother in infancy, Gerald Stoiber; a sister, Dorothy McKinney; his step-father, Herman Baumer; and a son-in-law, Richard Londre.
