Larson, Archie (7 December 1910 - 21 July 1966)
Mr. and Mrs. Ward Lockman received word last week from Mr. and Mrs. Ben Larson of Genoa City of the death of his brother, Archie Larson, at Chicago, Ill.
Mr. Larson, 56, of Solon Mills, Ill., died July 21, in a Chicago hospital. He had been taken there July 20, and was scheduled for an operation on the following day, but died that morning at 4 o’clock. The cause of death was presumed to have been a malignant tumor. An autopsy was to have been performed but the report was not yet available.
Archie Larson was born to Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Larson in Osseo, December 7, 1910.
When he was about four or five years old, the Larsons moved to Columbia, where Archie attended the old Sunny Nook School and grew to manhood. The Larson home was located south of the old Columbia depot. The foundation of the house is still there and the land now belongs to the William Sollbergers.
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Larson are buried in the Columbia Cemetery.
Archie Larson is survived by his wife and five children. The youngest, Melody, is five years old. He had one granddaughter, four months old. He is also survived by three brothers, Ben, Perry and Ernest.
Funeral services were held July 23 in Solon Mills. Burial was made in Cedarvale Cemetery.
