Heath, Paulina (19 MAR 1917)
Three years ago last September Mr. and Mrs. Andrew heath celebrated their golden wedding here at their home in Heathville, and left for the west and took up residence at Fossil, Oregon a week later. Here, two years ago Mr. Heath died and now come news of her re-marriage. The Fossil, Oregon Journal of March 23, 1917 says:
"Mr. D.R. Laycock and Mrs. Paulina Heath were married at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.O. Ralston in Fossil, Oregon, March 19th, 1917, Rev. W.N. Byars officiating. Only a few near friends and relatives were present at the ceremony.
Mr. Laycock is a retired merchant from Puyallup, Wash., and was also a contractor and building for several years. The esteem in which Mrs. Heath is held in the social circle of this city was evidenced by the score or more of friends, young and old, who came in a serenading party to offer congratulations and best wishes, bringing with them an ample supply of rice with which to shower the bride and groom. Mr. and Mrs. Laycock were the recipients of several beautiful presents.
The evening was spent in singing appropriate songs and general merry making. Dainty refreshments were served by the hostess. The happy couple will reside in Fossil for the present.
