Moeller, Adam (90th Birthday – 30 July 1966)

Adam Moeller celebrated his 90th birthday on Sunday, July 31, in the town of Sherwood, Pittsville, Rt. 1.  His five living children, all but two of their 32 children and but one of their 14 grandchildren were present to visit with him at the potluck noontime meal and supper.  Two of his younger brothers also were there: Paul Moeller of Anamosa, Ia., and Henry Moeller of Maquoketa, Ia.

Three cakes with 30 candles each were lit, and guests gathered around to sing “Happy Birthday,” three times for father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  It took three hearty puffs to blow out the candles.

Neighbors and friends also came to call in the afternoon and to visit a while.  More than 100 people were there.
