Reams, Caroline (31 March 1879 – 8 August 1966)
Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) at 9:30 a.m.
from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville for Mrs. Caroline Reams, 87, of
Maywood, Ill., who died Monday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter.
The Rev. George M. Nelson will officiate, and burial will be made in the
parish cemetery.
Mrs. Reams, the former Caroline Nauertz, was born March 31,
1879, in Waucoma, Ia. She attended
schools there and August 24, 1909, she was married there to George Reams.
Following their marriage they farmed for a time in the Waucoma area,
coming to Clark County in 1918. They were engaged in farming here.
Following the death of Mr. Reams in 1951, Mrs. Reams moved to
Neillsville. Four years ago she went to Maywood, Ill., to make her home with a
daughter.
Her parents were the late Peter and Sophia (Barancko) Nauertz.
She is survived by a son, Merle Reams of Kenosha; and a daughter, Mrs. John
(Eva) Mulroyan of Maywood, Ill.
Other survivors are 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a brother,
George Nauertz of Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Cecil
Reams.
A rosary was said Wednesday evening at the Georgas Funeral
Home in Neillsville.
Mrs. Reams was a member of the Parish Council of Catholic
Women.
