Marjorie Ivabelle Runge, age 90, of Unity, passed away March
6, 2012, at The House of the Dove Hospice in Marshfield.
A memorial service was held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Al Houts presided. A
visitation was held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial
will take place at the Colby Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
Marjorie was born December 24, 1921, to Elma (Kops) and
William “Ike” Hudson in Unity at the corner Hotel owned by her grandparents. She
was a graduate of Unity High School. Marjorie and Harold Runge were united in
marriage on August 19, 1939, at “"The Little Brown Church in the Vale” in Iowa.
Marjorie and Harold raised their family on the Runge Family Farm outside of
Unity. Marjorie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity.
Marjorie's love of family showed in everything she did.
And spending time with her family always made her the happiest. She loved
cooking and still at age 90 would cook up some pretty delicious meals for her
family when asked to do so. Occasionally Marjorie would enjoy taking a road trip
to an area casino.
Marjorie is lovingly survived by her children, Dennis
“Butch” (Diane) Runge of Hales Corners, Ronnie (Lavonne) Runge of Edgar, Duane
“Biff” (JoAnn) Runge of Colby, Susan (Ron) Karsten of Curtiss, Bradley (Kathy)
Runge of Ladysmith, and Randy (friend Pam) Runge of Medford. Marjorie is further
survived by 22 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one
great-great-grandchild; and her sister, Geraldine Jeske.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband,
Harold; her sister, Dorothy Talcott; her brother, Harold Hudson; her daughter,
Nancy Moede; her son-in-law, Orvis “Butch” Moede; and a great-great-grandchild
The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home assisted the family
with arrangements.
