Doris E. Tesmer, age 90, of Stoughton, passed away on
Saturday, May 19, 2012, with family by her side.
She was born on Nov. 20, 1921, in Spencer, the daughter of
Fred and Anna (Wellnitz) Rienow.
Doris graduated from Colby High School. She married Junior E.
Tesmer on June 20, 1942, in Colby. Doris and her husband owned and operated
Tesmer Plumbing and Heating in Colby for 30 years. They then retired to
Stoughton in 1984.
Doris was an active member of Good Shepherd by the Lake and a
member of American Legion in Colby. She also volunteered at House of Thrift for
many years and was on the altar guild and a member of Mary Martha. Doris and
Junior loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was also a
devoted fan of the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers.
Doris is survived by her children, Janice (Mike) Commarato of
Rockville, Md., Joni (Mike) Bullock of Madison, Jim (Laura) Tesmer of Kohler,
and Lori (John) Schlimgen of Stoughton; nine grandchildren, Emily, Kim, Amy,
Jonathan, Kristin, Nick, Heidi (Mike), Amanda, and Katelyn; seven
great-grandchildren, Kayla, Julia, Brianne, Chloe, Sydney, Maegan, and Alex; and
great-great-granddaughter, Corra.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior in 2009;
sister, Ethel; and brothers, Bill and Fred.
Funeral services will be held at Good Shepherd By The Lake
Lutheran Church, 1860 US Hwy 51, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23,
2012. A luncheon will follow. Visitation will be held at Gunderson Stoughton
Funeral Home, 1358 US Hwy 51 at Jackson St., Stoughton, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of
service on Wednesday.
Graveside services will be held at Colby Memorial Cemetery in
Colby at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, American Cancer Society, or Agrace
HospiceCare.
