Humbird (11 August 1966)

Frederick Shatswell was called here Sunday by the illness of his brother, Lowell, who was taken by ambulance Monday to the Black River Falls hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Duxbury accompanied him.

Mr. and Mrs. Alton O’Leary and children of Glenwood City and Mr. and Mrs. Russell O’Leary were guests Sunday at the Raymond Kopp home.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl De Long of Owen brought her mother, Mrs. Emma O’Leary, home Friday evening after a two-week visit with them.

Mr. and Mrs. John Greub drove to Monroe Friday to visit a few days at the Fred and Bill Greub homes.

Mr. and Mrs. Chet Baily and Mrs. Walter Sheffer were in Black River Falls Saturday.

Mrs. Thane Joos, Karen, Teresa and Kent, of Alma Canter, accompanied by Mrs. Maude Newton, were in Eau Claire Wednesday and were luncheon guests at the Archie Nelson home. Mrs. Merle Prindle and daughter of Alma Center, who were in Eau Claire, came home with them.

Miss Lucille Dunn and mother attended the wedding of their niece and granddaughter Saturday in Minneapolis, and were weekend guests at the Alton Dunn home.

Mrs. Willard Stanley and niece, Debbie Schmitz, were in Chippewa Falls Sunday to attend the fair.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Boettcher and children were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schrier, in Minneapolis. On their way home Monday, they stopped in Eau Claire, where their son, Howard, was fitted with a harness for his foot. Mrs. Boettcher has just had the cast removed from her ankle. No more trouble in the Boettcher family is hoped for.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Allen drove to Wisconsin Rapids Saturday to spend a few days with her son and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Staves and Wendy of St. Paul were weekend guests at the Donald Staves and Lyle Newell homes.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Clouse of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe and Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Wold and boys of Disco were dinner and supper guests of Mrs. Ida Wolf and family in rural Black River Falls.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Newell of Hixton spent Sunday evening at the Lyle Newell home.

Mrs. Harold Prock of Neillsville spent Friday evening with Mrs. Christine Hanson.

Mrs. Willard Putman called at the Fred Barr home Sunday evening.

Mrs. Emma Gerber was a dinner and afternoon guest Sunday at the Elmer Duerkop home.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Nest and daughter of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Taylor and Mrs. Walter Pilney of Mosinee, visited Sunday at the Melvin Markle home.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Fitzmaurice and family of Janesville spent last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Fitzmaurice. Mr. and Mrs. George Michels and family of rural Alma Center were dinner guests there Saturday.

Mrs. Harold Eglinton of Sparta, Mrs. Dorothy Mork of Milwaukee and Mrs. Gretchen Berry of Cataract, visited Sunday at the (blotch) Sheffer home.

Mrs. Jane Schickert and Mrs. Darrell Schickert of Wausau visited Monday morning at the John (blotch) Adler home.

Mrs. Rudy Aeschbacher called Friday at the Glen Van Horn home in Alma Center, finding her sister, Miss Irene Dunn, home from the hospital and much better.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Barnow and children of Wausau, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Buttke and Judy of Milwaukee, were weekend guests at the Ted Polege home.

Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice were supper guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Fitzmaurice at their farm home.
