Hribar Clara (16 JULY 1925-23 APR 2012)
Clara C. Hribar, 86, Greenwood, died on Monday, April 23, 2012, at her home.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, at Holy Family
Catholic Church, Willard. Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial of cremains
followed in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
Clara Christine Routar was born on July 16, 1925, in Willard, the daughter of
John and Ana (nee Jionetti) Routar. She was raised on the family farm and
received her education at Willard State Graded School and graduated from
Greenwood High School in 1943. She then attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing,
Marshfield, and graduated in 1947. After graduation, she worked for a time at
St. Joseph’s Hospital and also did private nursing care in other hospitals. She
married Walter Hribar on Nov. 25, 1948, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard.
She and Walter farmed together in Greenwood until retirement. She was a member
of the KSKJ, American Slovenian Catholic Union.
Clara’s life involved caring for her family and she expressed her love by the
wonderful cooking that she did for all.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Walter, Greenwood; their children,
Joanne (Tom) Zwaschka, Willard, Wally (Cheryl) Hribar, Prior Lake, Minn., Patti
(Gerry) Denk, Crystal Lake, Ill., Kathy (Tim Dew) Paredes, Conroe, Texas, Patti
(Dennis) Suda, Spencer, and Tom (Lynn Eaton) Hribar, New Prague, Minn.; 12
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Anne Collier and Jenny
Routar; and one brother, John Routar.
