Miller, Mary (05 SEPT 1942-17 MAY 2012)
Mary F. Miller, 69, Loyal, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Ministry
Saint Joseph’s Hospital. Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on
Tuesday, May 22 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. Rev. Keith Kitzhaber
officiated. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike
Kastern, Chris Kastern, Charlie Kastern, Mike Ehlers, Roger Ehlers and Paul
Haebig.
Mary Frances Kastern was born on Sept. 5, 1942, in Superior, the daughter of
Roman J. and Jean O. (nee Haebig) Kastern. She was raised and received her
education in Superior, graduating from Cathedral High School im 1961. She then
attended beauty school in Duluth, Minn., and upon completion of her training,
worked at My Fair Lady Beauty Salon in Marshfield. She married James F. Miller
on June 26, 1965, at St. John Catholic Church, Marshfield. They lived and farmed
in Loyal where Mary was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of St.
Anthony’s Catholic Church, where she taught CCD, and was a member of the Clark
County Homemakers. She had many interests, but especially enjoyed writing
poetry, knitting mittens and playing cards.
She is survived by her husband, James, Loyal; five children, Theresa Miller,
Marshfield, Lisa (Tim) Tollefson, Milton, David Miller, Loyal, Greg (Julie)
Miller, Loyal, and Robert (fiance Lee Ann Kozik) Miller, Loyal; five
grandchildren, Christina Miller; Afton Tollefson, Brynn Tollefson, Brody Miller
and Sarah Miller; three brothers, John (Lois) Kastern, Marshfield, William
(Mary) Kastern, Chili, and George (Sharon) Kastern, Sherwood, Ariz.; and nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
