Martin Kolak, a former Thorp (Clark
Co., Wis.) resident, died at Kewaunee, Wis., on Monday, April 24, 1961 at 11:45
a.m. at St. Mary’s Kewaunee Area Memorial Hospital, at the age of 96 years, 11
1/2 months.
Mr. Kolak was a native of Tarnow, Poland, born May 10, 1864.
He now was a retired farmer and came to Kewaunee from Chicago, Ill.
He
was married Feb. 15, 1886 in the Town of Eaton to the former Rose Nitka, who
preceded him in death in 1940, also preceding him were 3 daughters and 1 son.
Surviving are eight children, Mrs. John (Mary) Piechota of Green Bay, Frank of
Chicago, Mrs. Theo. (Josephine) Przenozny of Chicago, Joseph of Kewaunee, Mrs.
Joseph F. (Pauline) Czech of Thorp, Mrs. Amelia Kolodziej of Thorp, John (Rose)
Rieberg of Chicago, Mrs. Pete M. Kolak of Chicago, also 24 grandchildren and 9
great-grandchildren.
His body was at the Buchanan Funeral Home in
Kewaunee, Wis. Funeral services were held on Thursday morning at 10:00 o’clock
in St. Cyril Methodist Church in the town of Eaton, Brown Co., with Rev.
Chmielewski officiating, and interment was at the parish cemetery.
