Kryzanski, Martha (1931 - 8 MAY 1961)
The
mother of four small children was found dead in the family auto by her husband
Monday, their fifth wedding anniversary.
Clark Co. authorities ruled the
death of Mrs. Mike (Martha) Kryzanski Jr., 29, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), was the
result of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning.
The body was found about
6:45 a.m. Monday by her husband. It was lying in the front seat of their station
wagon in the garage at their home.
The Thorp Fire Department was called
at 7:02 a.m., but efforts to revive her failed.
Kryzanski said the
family, along with a 17-year-old baby sitter had been visiting in the Owen area
Sunday afternoon and evening, and had stopped at taverns in Owen and in the Town
of Longwood during the course of the evening.
After an argument between
Kryzanski and his wife, authorities said, she refused to ride home, but was
taken there later by Mrs. Albert Novak, with whom the family had been visiting.
Mrs. Novak said Mrs. Kryzanski insisted on sleeping in the car.
Authorities said she apparently became cold and started the engine to keep warm.
Kryzanski said he found his wife’s body as he was about to start on a milk
route. He heard the auto engine running and quickly opened the garage doors. He
then called for the fire department and resuscitator.
Fire Chief Ray
Zaborowski and Jack Boardman made efforts to revive her with the department’s
resuscitator for about one-half hour, but failed.
Mrs. Kryzanski is
survived by her husband; four children, Debbie, Mike Theresa and the youngest
Sandra, eight months, and her mother, Mrs. Mary Roberts, Charleston, S.C.
The family had lived in their present home about two years. The couple
married five years ago in Washington, D.C.
Investigating were Clark
County authorities, Sheriff Ray Kutsche, Dist. Attorney Everett Gorsegner,
Coroner Robert Lulloff and Ed Harycki, Thorp Chief of Police.
Funeral
services for Mrs. Mike Kryzanski Jr. will be held today (Thursday0 in the Thorp
Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Cecil Ward of the Thorp Methodist
Church officiating. Burial will be in the East Thorp Cemetery.
