Lesniewski, Mr./Mrs. Adam (Gold - 13 MAY 1961)
On
May 13, 1961, a host of friends, neighbors and relatives helped Mr. and Mrs.
Adam Lesniewski celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary.
The day
began with a ten o’clock Mass, which was said by the Rev. Francis Disher at St.
Hedwig’s Church. Six of their grandsons acted as mass servers, while five of
their granddaughters were their flower girls.
Mrs. Edna Jasinek and Mr.
Stanley Neiman, the first attendants at the marriage ceremony fifty years ago,
did the honors for the celebrants again.
A reception was held at the PNA
Hall, where Mrs. Frances Neiman, as toastmaster, read a short history of the
couple’s married life, after which she called on each of the five children, some
of the grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters for a few words. A
song of congratulations was rendered by the grandchildren.
Following the
evening meal, a dance was held, also a grand march led by Mary Ann Lesniewski
dressed in a replica of the original wedding dress worn by Mrs. Lesniewski, and
John Possley, who acted as bridegroom.
