The Spencer Tribune has the following to say of Wm. Van Hoesear of Romeo, one of the most energetic lumbermen on the line and of Ed. J. Rierdon, formerly of this city:

We laid over one train at Romeo, last week, and found that friend Van Hoesear had three camps employing about 100 men and 25 teams, and they were putting in 125,000 feet per day.

They have already banked over a million feet, and intend to make it eight million for the winter. The mill is now running with full force, and gives employment to fifty-five men.

Besides the regular employees, there are many settlers hauling hard wood to the mill, and there will be brought in about 800,000 feet of hard wood logs before spring.

Van runs his own blacksmith shop, store, post office, etc, and has boarders from various places, including St. Paul., and among his guests is the School marm who is teaching good school, and adds much to the good manners of the people of Romeo.

We found Ed. Rierdon hard at work, and became convinced of what we have often heard before, that Ed. is the best bookkeeper on the line. He says no School marm bothers him.
