Bell, John A. (8 November 1873 - 10 September 1966)
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from St. John’s United Church
in Humbird, for John A. Bell, 92, of Humbird, who died Saturday in Neillsville.
The Rev. Jacob Grether of Neillsville officiated. Burial was made in the Trinity
Cemetery at Fall Creek.
Mr. Bell, born November 8, 1873, in Humbird,
attended rural school in the Town of Mentor. He spent most of his life time
farming in the Humbird area, with the exception of a few years when he was
employed in the tannery and logging industry near Rib Lake.
On February
15, 1899, he was married to the former Lena Judas in Rib Lake. She died in 1950.
Mr. Bell is survived by the following children: Mrs. Sam (Alice) Fitzmaurice
of Humbird; Mrs. Azure (Marion) Osborne of Humbird; Mrs. Marcella Krueger of
Monroe; Miss Edna Bell of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Helen Giloy of Humbird; Mrs.
Oliver (Regina) Juliusson of Boulder, Colo.; Mrs. August (Josephine) Kaufman of
Humbird; Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Giloy of Humbird; Phillip Bell of Milwaukee; and
Robert Bell of Humbird. Other survivors include a brother, Steve Kubaski of
Humbird; 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were:
Art Bell, Kenneth Bell, and James Krueger (balance of names of pallbearers was
missing).
