Blakey, Daniel T.K. (16 SEP 1950 - 5 JUN 2012)

Daniel T. K. Blakey, age 61, of Granton, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Colby, WI. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield. A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home in Marshfield.

Daniel was born September 16, 1950 to Isaac and Arlee (Bullard) Blakey in St. Paul, Minnesota. He received his education at Chisago Lakes Center City High School in Minnesota. Dan worked as a semi-truck driver, bus driver, and farmer for many years, but his passion was farming.

Daniel was most happy when his hands were dirty and his day was full of things to do. He enjoyed making maple syrup, helping the local Amish families, and anyone else who needed assistance.

Daniel is survived by his children: Autumn Blakey of Lacrosse, WI, Summer Blakey of Eden Prairie, MN, Melody (Gil) Holcomb of Waterloo, WI, Alexis Blakey of Madison, WI, and Callie Blakey of Granton, WI; and his grandchild, Blake Holcomb. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters: Issac (Portia) Blakey, Lorraine (Neal) Prince, Edie Jefferson, Carole Blakey-Beison, James "Tony" (Lenora) Blakey, Jean Blakey, Candy (David) Pettiford, Joan (Howard) Kempffer, David (Beverly) Blakey, and Jerry (Jackie) Blakey.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Judy Blakey, his brother, Cass Blakey, and his first wife, Jane Blakey.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
