Philpott, Lacey (26 AUG 1890-01 FEB 1960)

Lacey D. Philpott, 69, died at his home at one p.m. Monday of a heart ailment. Mr. Philpott worked as a custodian of the city parks, the Municipal Building grounds the ice skating pond, and the School district at the Loyal Public school.

Funeral services will be held at the Loyal Methodist church at 2 p.m. Thursday (Today) with the Rev. Slfred Attwood officiating. Burial will be in the Loyal cemetery. The body will be taken from the Myre Funeral Home, where it had reposed in stste, to the church at noon.

LaceyPhilpott was born in Loyal August 26, 1890. His education was received in the Loyal schools.

He was married to Nellie Goehring at Loyal October 2, 1913. They lived on farms near Loyal for a few years then went to Milwaukee for ten years, then moved to Draper where they lived for ten years. Four years ago they returned to Loyal to again make their home for ten years on the city board here. While in Omro he served

He was a member of the Loyal Methodist Church and a charter member of its Methodist Men’s club. He was a member of the I.o.o.f. of Omro and was an associate member of the Withee lodge. He was also a member of Christa Rebeka lodge at Omro and Star Rebeka at Withee. He has been a member of the Modern Woodsmen of America (MWA) for 48 years. Since his return to Loyal he has been a board member of the Loyal Cemetery Association. In all of these organizations he has been an interested member and taken an active part in the work.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Eileen) Dobson of Negaunee, Michigan; by one son, Delbert E. Philpott of Marine Biol. Lab. Woods Hole, Mass; by one sister, Mrs. Alpha Herren of Santa Cruz, California; and by two grandchildren, Nancy and Dennis Dobson.

One sister and one brother preceded him in death.
