Fred
Garvin, 86, a former farmer and business man of Loyal, died Thursday morning,
Feb. 4. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Plummer Funeral Home,
Sparta.
The body was brought to Loyal for burial in the Loyal Cemetery at
4 p.m. Saturday with graveside ceremonies conducted by a Sparta pastor. Mr.
Garvin was born in Canada in 1873.
He is survived by his wife of Viroqua;
one son, Lee Garvin of Rockford, Ill., and two daughters, Mrs. Wally (Edith)
Hornick of Richland Center and Mrs. Gerald (Ann) Johnson of Viroqua; and six
grandchildren.
Attending the funeral from out of town were Mrs. Fred
Garvin, Viroqua; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Garvin and son and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald
Albough, Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Wally Hornick and son, Richland Center;
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Johnson and daughter, Viroqua; Mr. and Mrs. Haraold Blaasch,
Greenwood; and Mr. and Mrs. Garvin Catlin, Eau Claire.
Also present were
Mr. and Mrs. David Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smith. Mrs. David Smith is a
niece of Mr. Garvin. Several old Loyal friends also attended the graveside
services for the deceased.
