Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Fortek of this city (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.)
celebrated their silver anniversary on Sunday, June 18, 1961.
The special
day began by attending Mass at St. Hedwig’s Church with their two daughters and
other relatives, where they received a blessing from the Rev. George Becker.
A dinner was served at one o’clock at the Wink Inn Hall with 75 guests
present.
Mrs. Fortek was attired in a beige dress with white accessories.
Her corsage was an orchid. Mr. Fortek wore a white carnation boutonniere in
the lapel of his suit.
Many gifts, flowers, messages and money were
presented the honored couple.
The former Wanda Losiewicz and Stanley
Fortek were united in holy matrimony in Chicago on June 20, 1936. After twelve
years they moved to a farm near Withee where they lived for four years. In 1952
they purchased the Thorp Hardware from the late Frank Anyzewski, which they now
operate.
Out of town guests included their daughter Elaine of Chicago,
Mr. and Mrs. Allan (Virginia) Christopherson of Withee, Fortek’s grandson, Scott
Christopherson, Withee, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kryck, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Nawrocki and
Mrs. Jos. Koziol of Chicago.
Relatives from Wausau, Stanley, Owen and
Thorp also attended.
