Goebel, Paul (25 September 1881 - 15 September 1966)
Funeral services
were held Sunday afternoon for Paul Goebel, 84, of Rt. 1 Granton, a lifelong
resident of the Granton area, who died last Thursday at his home. Services were
held from the Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. The Rev. Evan
Dieck officiated. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
Mr. Goebel was
born September 25, 1881, in the Town of Grant. On November 25, 1908, he was
married to the former Nelda Garbisch, in Zion American Lutheran Church. They
farmed in the Town of Grant until 1951, when they moved into their home on Rt. 1
Granton. He was a member of the Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of
Grant, and was the church janitor.
Mr. Goebel is survived by his wife;
four daughters, Mrs. Erwin (Edna) Garbisch, Mrs. Carl (Leona) Krause, Jr., Mrs.
Martin (Norma) Krause, and Mrs. Raymond (Verna) Kurth, all of the Granton area;
two sisters, Mrs. Anna Dudei of Granton and Mrs. Clara Graeser of Milwaukee; and
by 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements
were made by the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton.
Pallbearers were:
Wallace, Kenneth and Roger Krause, Wayne and Glenn Kurth and Hubert Dudei.
