26 ROAD
Old friends of Mrs. Mary
Hull stole a surprise on her Sunday, it being her birthday. Her old pals dropped
in with a pot luck dinner. A big dinner was enjoyed and the afternoon was spent
in playing bingo. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Albert Vanderhoof, Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Bymers and son, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Chamberlain, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Stocheck
and daughter, Mrs. Matt Jost and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Voelker and daughters and
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pickett and daughters and Mrs. Minnie Gaffney. All enjoyed the
day even though the honored guest was completely surprised. All departed for
their homes wishing Mrs. Hull many happy returns.
Grant Fisher of Scott
Field spent a two day leave with his parents, returning Tuesday.
Blanch
Endries and Ray Stargardt of Milwaukee spent the week-end at the John Endries
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fisher and son, Stanley; Carrol Voelker and
Angeline Cramer took a trip over the week-end, leaving to see their son, Grant,
who is stationed at Scott Field, but when they arrived there to see him he had
just left to come home to surprise them. So in other words they were all
surprised all around. They arrived in Spencer at about the same time. Grant came
home by bus and the others with care.
