Announce Organization Of Cloverbelt Ball League

Marshfield, Wis. - A baseball league composed of teams representing Marshfield, Colby, Dorchester, Owen, Thorp and Boyd, and known as the Cloverbelt circuit, will operated this season, according to an announcement of such an organization made at Colby.

Club managers are: Marshfield, Pete Blum; Colby, Harry Crosby; Dorchester, William Conkling; Owen, L. F. Bangsburg; Thorp, Anton Velcheck; Boyd, Edward Mittermeyer.

Adopt Set of Rules

A full set of rules has been adopted, and games were scheduled at a meeting held in Marshfield last night. Harry Crosby of Colby was elected president of the league, and Manager Blum of the Marshfield Badgers was named secretary-treasurer.

Will Play For Pennant

The rules governing the league are in accordance with those given in the Spalding baseball guide. Each team will have two umpires, one to travel with the team. The managers of the teams will constitute the board of directors.

The schedule, as planned, will provide for 15 games for each team, to be played in two divisions, eight in the first and seven in the second, with a post-season series of three games between the winners of the divisions for the pennant. Sunday, May 16, is planned on as the date for the opening of the league season.
