Miss Frances Brooks
left Sunday for Eau Claire to resume her studies at the Normal.
Mrs.
Keuer of Star Corner is visiting her daughter Mrs. Fred Hankey this week.
Mr. and Mrs. E. Montag of Chili were visiting rleatives in this place
Sunday.
Mrs. Mary Petrie and son Nick of Rozellville came out Tuesday and
brought little Barbara Foix to see her papa. She will stay here with him.
Hattie Scholtz visited friends in Marshfield and Ebbe from Saturday until
Tuesday.
Paul Folz opened his store Tuesday with a fine line of
groceries.
Miss Hattie Scholtz has accepted a position as clerk at the
Paul Folz store.
Alvin Cole transacted business at Marshfield Saturday
and visited the Nelsons at Ebbe Sunday and Monday.
Fred and Oscar
Breseman came back from Chelsea last week and are now seen among their old
friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Brooks were given a farewell party by the
Masons and Stars of Granton at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Knorr last Friday
evening.
Geo. Brooks expects to leave this week for Morristown, S.D.
Miss Gertrude Helm visited her sister Mrs. Fred Bartz near Granton last
week.
Mrs. Nankevil and Robert visited the Altenburg’s Sunday.
Adolph Voight has an automobile that performs peculiar feats. Adolph is thinking
of joining the circus for he has almost mastered the loop the loop trick. He
left his car standing in front of Mrs. Montag’s residence on the side hill, and
stopping the car crosswise in the road to hold it from going downhill while he
went in the store to trade, and forgetting he had left the gear in reverse,
cranked it and immediately it backed down the steep bank and over the sidewalk,
but quick as thought Adolph jumped in the car and being of brave disposition he
reversed the car and ran down the embankment. If the car had started forward as
sudden as it backed up the hill, it could have been s serious thing for Adolph.
Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Baer and daughter Helene visited Mr. and Mrs. R.T.
Washburn Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Hatzenbuhler of Oshkosh, who is visiting
her daughter Mrs. Riedel, visited old friends in Lynn last week.
Mr. and
Mrs. Herman Riedel came over the latter part of last week and visited their
grandma Riedel, who is very sick.
Mrs. Lizzie Montage is also attending
her mother, Mrs. Riedel.
