HENRY W. HARDRATH DIES AT RIPLINGER
MONDAY
Henry W. Hardrath aged 88, a resident in Riplinger for the past 15
years, died at his home Monday morning following a lingering illness. The body
was taken to the Central Wisconsin Co-Op Funeral home in Marshfield and at noon
on this Thursday will be moved to St. John’s Lutheran church in Riplinger, for
services at 2 o’clock. The Rev. Gerhardt Reiff will officiate and burial will be
made in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hardrath was born in Manitowoc county
Sept. 24, 1875, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Hardrath, and was baptized and
confirmed in the Lutheran faith there. In 1898 he went to Fairfax, where he
worked for some time. He married Miss Anne Kuester in Hettrick, Minn., Feb 16,
1900, and in 1903 moved to the town of Beaver where he lived until his
retirement 15 years ago. Since then he had lived in Riplinger. A charter member
of St. John’s Lutheran church, he served as treasurer for nine years and was a
member of the board of directors of the Central Wisconsin Shipping association
for five years.
Surviving besides his mother are his wife, Anne; five
sons, Arthur of Greenwood, Roy and Walter of Unity, Alvin of Milwaukee, Fred of
Marathon, and two daughters, Mrs. Bernard Seefeld of Marshfield and Miss Bertha
Hardrath at home. Six brothers, William of Owen, Carl, George, John, Edward and
Emil of Manitowoc, and five sisters, Mrs. Ida Oestreich, Mrs. Emma Luepke and
Mrs. Clara Mrotek of Manitowoc; Miss Esther Hardrath of Milwaukee and Mrs.
Minnie Miller of Greenville, and 16 grandchildren also survive. One child and
three brothers preceded him in death.
