Pleasant Ridge (1 OCT 1914)
Mrs. Lon Huckstead will entertain the Ladies Aid Wednesday afternoon, Sept.
30th.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Coffin and Father Huckstead of Bradgate, Iowa,
came Saturday for a week’s visit with H.O. Huckstead and other relatives. They
autoed through starting Thursday. Although Mr. Huckstead is 81 years old he
stood the trip well and was out to church Sunday.
The Blackman barn is
being treated to a coat of paint this week.
George Vine and family spent
Sunday with relatives at Shortville.
John Benedict and wife are spending
the week at Joe Brown’s.
Ira Slocomb left last Monday for Madison to
resume his studies at the law University.
Anna Miller of Marshfield spent
last week at Richard Selves’.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Miller on the Wren
farm a girl on Sept. 24.
Alvin Eisentraut and wife and Mr. and Mrs.
Braatz autoed to Glove and back Sunday.
Alice Kurth spent Saturday night
with Nina Selves.
Mrs. Sarah Selves spent a day last week with Mrs. Henry
Counsell.
There was a marshmallow party at Henry Carter’s Saturday
evening.
There was a husking bee at Lewis Zipfel’s Monday night and one
at Will Waterman’s Tuesday night.
Miss Hammond and 12 of her pupils from
Neillsville visited school here Friday afternoon.
Wm. Gerhardt and wife
brought Rev. Brenner out Sunday and attended church.
Henry Hosley and
Kenneth Randall spent Saturday night with Clifford Blackman.
