Frank Zupanc, 89, died at his home in Loyal Friday morning,
April 27, of old age complications.
He was born in Yugoslavia Nov. 13,
1870. As a young man he came to this country and settled in Chicago where he
lived until a few years after his marriage. He was married to Mary Horvat in
Chicago in 1901. He moved to a farm in Willard where he lived until he
retirement in Nov. 1958, when he moved to Loyal.
He was a member of the
Holy Family Church in Willard until he moved to Loyal.
Funeral services
were held in the Holy Family Church at 10:00 a.m. Monday and burial was in the
parish cemetery. The Rev. Alois Madis officiated. A general rosary was held at
the Myre Funeral Home, Loyal at 8 p.m. Sunday led by the Rev. Norbert King.
Pallbearers were: August Podobnik, Bert Brown, Frank Parkel, Tony Trunkel,
John Zupancic, and Frank Koschak.
The Rev. Father Aloysius Madic had
charge of the services and the Rev. Father Norbert King assisted in the
sanctuary.
Among those from away who attended the service were: Mr. and
Mrs. Phillip Dub of Berwyn, Ill.; Bon Guidi and James Kalous of Chicago; and son
of Dubuque, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zupanc and family of Wisconsin Rapids; and
Mrs. Mary Gregorich and Mrs. James Gregorich, Zwingle, Iowa.
Mr. Zupanc
is survived by his wife, four sons Joseph and Tony of Loyal, Frank Jr. of
Wisconsin Rapids, and Victor of Tomah; by three daughters, Mrs. Phillip (Ann)
Dub of Berwyn, Ill., Mrs. Casper (Caroline) Shober of Loyal, Mrs. Mary Gregorich
of Dubuque, Iowa; by 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and by two
sisters in Yugoslavia. Two brothers preceded him in death.
