Fishermen from Loyal were among the dozens of anglers to open the
season north of Highway 64 last Sunday. Most of them reported catching at least
some pan fish if ot a Northern or two plus some walleyes.
But perhaps the
luckiest angler to come to the attention of the Tribune was Dale Fravert who
landed a 29 ˝ inch walleye Sunday morning while fishing near the dam on the
outskirts of Tomahawk. The fish was the largest one seen caught that morning in
that location although several other fishermen caught substantial strings of
walleyes by fishing right at the dam.
