Bohac, Caroline M. (June 1909 - 3 June 2012)
Caroline M. Bohac,
almost 103, of Black River Falls, was born to eternal life June 3, 2012, while
at Black River Falls Hospital under Hospice Care. She had been a resident of
Family Heritage for the past three and one-half years.
Caroline was born
to John and Elizabeth (Hollinger) Sonheim in the Town of Levis in June 1909. She
was raised on the family farm along with seven siblings. She graduated from
Neillsville High School in 1926 and taught for 10 years at Sleepy Hollow, Bruce
Mound, Rock Creek and Washburn Schools in Clark County.
Caroline married
Bohumil H. Bohac in 1934 and shared 51 years together on his boyhood farm (Town
of Dewhurst) until his death in 1985.
Throughout her life, Caroline was
involved in her community and church. She was clerk for the Town of Dewhurst for
22 years. She was a member of Jackson County HCE for 38 years. She had
memberships in Warm Hearts, Thick and Thin, and Town and Country clubs. She
received the HCE service award in 1999. In 2005 she received the Jackson County
Women in History Award. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Alma Center
for 78 years. She lived her faith as a kind, generous woman who freely shared
her smile with anyone she met.
Caroline is survived by a son, Paul (Gail)
Bohac; a daughter, Jean (John) Starr; a daughter-in-law, Janice Bohac; six
grandchildren, one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces
and nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband,
she was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; two sisters and a son,
Barry in December 2011.
A celebration of Caroline’s life will be held at
Grace Lutheran Church, Alma Center Saturday, July 14, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. Family
and friends may gather one hour before the service. Rev. Steven Stork will
officiate. A time for fellowship will follow the service. Interment will be in
Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls.
In lieu of flowers,
contributions in memory of Caroline may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church,
Family Heritage Care Center, Black River Falls Interfaith or Black River Falls
Memorial Hospital Hospice Care.

Black River Falls is assisting the family with the arrangements.
