Harvey, James B. (27 AUG 1845 - 25 OCT 1923)

James B. Harvey, Pioneer Colby Man, Takes Own Life

Colby, Wis. - James B. Harvey, one of the pioneer residents of the city of Colby and a highly respected and honored citizen, shot and killed himself early yesterday.

Despondency is the only known motive for the act.

The deceased who was seventy-eight years of age, had when despondent informed friends that he was tired of life, but there was no thought that he at any time planned to take his own life.

The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon, the services to be in charge of the Masonic fraternity, of which he had long been a member.

Note: Birth information was extracted from the index at Colby Memorial Cemetery.
