Helen H. Mueller, age 104, of
Dorchester, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Golden LivingCenter in
Abbotsford.
As one journey ends, another begins. Funeral services will
be held at Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester at 3 p.m. on Friday, June
15. Pastor Bonnie Jacque-Gorecki will officiate. A visitation will be held from
1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in the
Dorchester Memorial Cemetery North.
Helen was born on August 6, 1907 to
Robert and Olga (Steinhauser) Tischendorf in the Town of Mayville. Helen
attended Cleveland School in the Town of Mayville. She helped on the family farm
and did housework for various families before her marriage to John Mueller on
January 4, 1928 in Medford.
Together they farmed in the Town of Holton
until 1954, moving to Dorchester in 1962. Helen was a kind and giving person who
was always willing to help. Helen worked for Mildy's Dress Shop and Maurina's
Shoe Store in Dorchester, and did child care for family and friends.
She
was a volunteer for the Dorchester Nutrition Center and a volunteer driver for
the Clark County Commission of Aging and volunteered her time for church
dinners. Helen was a lifetime member of Peace United Church of Christ, serving
on the Church Council, church choir and the Ladies Guild.
Helen enjoyed
playing cards, bowling, spending time with family, traveling and socializing.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" (Victor) Zak of Abbotsford;
grandchildren, Vicky (Butch) Kollmansberger of Dorchester, Gregory Zak of
Hammond, Karla (Joe) Feldbruegge of Colby and Bonnie (Lenny) Zawislan of
Stratford; 12 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; sister, Clara; and
brothers, Walter, William, Harry and Paul.
Helen's family would like to
thank the staff at the Golden LivingCenter and the Asera Care Hospice Team for
the wonderful care.
Celebrate my life, my soul has been set free.
The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester is assisting the family with
arrangements.
