MRS. CARRIE DAMON’S 80TH BIRTHDAY IS CELEBRATED

A pioneer resident of Spencer, Mrs. Carrie Damon celebrated her 80th birthday quietly at home Monday, Oct. 12. Many of her friends called to express their best wishes and from the numerous gifts of candy, fruit, flowers, birthday cake, cards and other gifts she received her friends are indeed many. Mrs. Damon lives with her daughter, Lucille, and son, Glen in the same house she came to as a bride. Mr. Damon passed away a few years ago, and also two sons, Frank and Fay. She has living, a son, Grant of Oregon, Seth of Milwaukee who has just entered the Navy; Ina and Ethel of Washington, D. C.; Calla (Mrs. Frank Schofield) of Miller, S. D. and Glen and Lucille at home. Mrs. Damon is a member of the Royal Neighbors lodge of which she has been chancellor for a number of years, and a member of the women’s Society of Christian Service. Mrs. Damon still sees the humorous side of life and it is a pleasure to visit with her. May she enjoy many more birthdays.
