Urban, Mary Beth (Marriage - 8 Oct 1966)
Marriage vows were exchanged Saturday in a nuptial mass uniting in marriage Miss
Mary Beth Urban, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Urban, Jr., of Neillsville, and
Thomas J. Rabe of Marshfield, son of Mrs. Edna Graff, also of Marshfield. The
Rev. George M. Nelson officiated at a double ring ceremony in St. Mary’s
Catholic Church in Neillsville. Baskets of white Fiji chrysanthemums graced the
altar.
“The Lord’s Prayer” and “On This Day O Beautiful Mother” were
sung by Greg (ink blotch) of Marshfield.
Mr. Urban presented his daughter
in marriage. For her wedding the bride chose a floor length princess style,
A-line portrait gown of imported rayon organza over taffeta, styled with a
bateau neckline, three-quarter-length sleeves and a large, detachable Watteau
train that was attached to the back neckline. Alencon lace accented the neckline
and Basque bodice. Her bouffant veil billowed from a crown of daisy petals made
of seed pearls and crystal. She carried a colonial bouquet of stephanotis,
centered with a white orchid.
Mrs. Dennis Ewert of Two Rivers served as
her matron of honor, with Miss Cheryl Harvey of Marshfield as bridesmaid. Both
attendants appeared in moss green, floor length formals, styled with bateau
necklines on bodices of velvet. Satin accented the Empire waistlines of the
sheath skirts of acetate faille, the backs being completed by satin Watteau
panels with bow trim. Matching satin circlet headpieces were pearl-trimmed and
held their pouf veils. Each carried a bouquet of three large bronze
chrysanthemums, entwined with ivy and foliage accented with bronze ribbon.
The groom was attended by David Wolfgram of Stevens Point as bestman.
Groomsman was Dick Urban of Neillsville. Ushers were Wade Urban of Neillsville
and David Riedel of Marshfield.
The bride, a 1961 graduate of
Neillsville High School, has been employed as a medical stenographer in
Marshfield. Mr. Rabe was graduated in 1958 from Marshfield Senior High School,
and presently is a student at University of Wisconsin, Wood County Campus, in
Marshfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Rabe will reside at 108 East 3rd Street in
Marshfield, on their return from a short wedding trip to northern Wisconsin.
