Elsie (30 OCT 1927 - 19 JUN 2012)
Elsie (Spaete) Larson, 84, of Eau
Claire, passed away on June 19, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau
Claire.
She was born on October 30, 1927, in Neillsville, WI, to Alfred
and Ida (Radewahn) Spaete. She attended grade school in Rice Lake and high
school in Granton, where she graduated in 1945. After high school, she attended
Marvel Beauty College in Milwaukee. Elsie married Arlo Schultz on November 3,
1946. She then worked at Montgomery Ward and Armour in Eau Claire, until
retiring in 1983.
Elsie married Willard Larson in 1982 and they retired
on Clear Lake. After traveling to many parts of the U.S., Lake Havasu, AZ,
became their winter home, where many lasting friendships were developed for
Elsie and Bill. After Bill's passing, Elsie returned to Eau Claire.
Elsie's favorite pastimes were reading, crosswords, bowling, fishing, cooking,
gardening, movies and
golfing. She was also an avid Packer fan. She was
a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bloomer and Peace Lutheran Church in
Eau Claire.
Survivors include sons, Toni (Kay) Scholtz, Wayne (Terri)
Scholtz, and Steve (Tracy) Scholtz; stepsons, Jim (Jane) Larson, and Dan Larson;
stepdaughter, Chris Bravo; sister, Lydia Cramer; two brothers, Alvin (Geri) and
Paul (Gloria) Spaete; grandchildren, great-granchildren, one great-great
grandson, Trent, and other family and friends.
Elsie was preceded in
death by her husband; parents; son, David, and stepson, John.
A
celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Stokes,
Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel in Altoona. Friends and family may call one hour
prior to the service.
