Obernberger, Helen M. (15 NOV 1913 - 18 JUN 2012)

Helen M. Obernberger, 98 formally of Stratford, died on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the Emergency Room at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital.

Committal services will be held at a later date at the St. Joseph's Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County.

Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home in Stratford is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Helen was born on November 15, 1913 in Dorchester to Frank and Christina (Fleckenstein) Hollmann. She graduated from Dorchester High School and went to Marathon County Normal School for two years in Wausau. She then taught for 2 ½ years at Draper School in Dorchester.

Helen was united in marriage to Alois B. Obernberger on August 31, 1937 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. Alois passed away on March 1, 2001.

They farmed in Stratford until their retirement. Helen worked for many years at St. Joseph's Hospital in the Dietetic Services Department.

She is survived by her children Rita (Gary) Gay of Patagonia, AZ; Robert Obernberger of Marshfield; Fred (Gloria) Obernberger of Spring Hill, FL; Joan (Myron) Kolbeck of Auburndale; and Mary (Heinz) Porysiak of Stratford; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

Besides her parents and husband Alois, she was preceded in death by a son Donald Obernberger, a grandson, five sisters and three brothers.
